Aluminium rafter bar installation guide

Measure and cut the aluminium glazing capping and bead to correct length. Cut the rubber base gasket to length and lay it on top of the rafters. Ideally put base gasket into position on the timber rafter to prevent movement while installing the glazing. Measure the glazing width into glazing rebate from rebate centre to rebate centre and deduct 12mm. Cut the sheets to length and width, try to cut near a vertical rib on the edge to avoid a  "floppy " edge. Install the sheets onto the rafter evenly positioned ensuring the base gasket is in the correct position. Line up the aluminium capping and pilot drill through the capping fixing channel and into the timber rafters every 300mm. using appropriate length screws (not supplied in pack),screw aluminium capping down to clamp the sheet in position. ensure that the screws are long enough to obtain a 30mm depth into the timber. Snap on the aluminium clip bead onto the capping to complete the installation. Finally fix the end plate onto the end of the bar by screwing it into the screw port with the screw/cap provided.
