The Project
Our customer wanted to improve the insulation of their existing wooden French doors without changing their appearance.
They chose Omegabuild’s DIY Clipglaze secondary glazing kit, consisting of white Clipglaze edging and two clear, UV-protected 4mm polycarbonate panels.
Omegabuild cut both sheets accurately to the customer’s measurements and provided advice on measuring and fitting, supported by an easy-to-follow installation video.
The customer completed the installation in just one day, achieving a neat, unobtrusive finish that blends beautifully with the existing white wooden door frames.
Customer Feedback
“I was very pleased with my Clipglaze secondary glazing system supplied by Omega (Roofing) Plastics Ltd. The glazing sheets were accurately cut to my specifications and supplied together with plastic white edging and screw clips, all very well wrapped up for delivery to my home. A clear, easy to follow, demonstration video detailed how to fix the glazing sheets, and edging kit to my wooden window surround. In total the task took me a day to complete and and I was very pleased with the end result. The resulting secondary glazing was unobtrusive and just as I wanted. I would most certainly use this company again for similar projects.”
The Finished Result
The completed project demonstrates how DIY secondary glazing for French doors can provide an affordable way to improve thermal insulation and help reduce draughts without replacing existing doors.
The clear polycarbonate panels and white edging create an attractive, discreet finish while adding an extra insulating layer.
