Can I walk on my polycarbonate roof?

No. You should never walk directly on polycarbonate roofing sheets. Although UK-manufactured Marlon polycarbonate roofing sheets are exceptionally strong, lightweight and highly impact resistant, they are designed to span between glazing bars or roof supports – not to support the weight of a person. Marlon ST multiwall polycarbonate is intended for applications such as canopies, conservatories, covered walkways and roof glazing, offering excellent light transmission, UV protection and a 10-year warranty when installed correctly.

If you need to access your roof for cleaning, maintenance or gutter repairs, always use a suitable crawl board that spans from glazing bar to glazing bar. This spreads your weight safely across the roof structure rather than onto the polycarbonate sheets themselves, helping to prevent damage and ensuring your roof continues to perform as intended.

Whether you have 10mm polycarbonate roofing sheets, 16mm polycarbonate roofing sheets or another thickness, the same advice applies: never stand or walk directly on the sheets.
