Magnetic secondary Glazing Tapes
Magnetic glazing tape is available in 30m, 15m, and 5m rolls. When measuring up , we need the external dimensions of where you want the secondary glazing to sit. The magnetic and steel tapes are 13mm wide so ensure there is enough space on the frame to accommodate this.
· Suitable for 2-4mm acrylic or plate polycarbonate
· Pack consists of a 12.7mm wide magnetic tape and a 13mm steel tape with double sided adhesive.
· The steel tape attaches to the window frame and the magnetic tape to the secondary glazing sheet. The tapes are only 2mm thick.
· Ideal solution where you do not want the secondary glazing to protrude too much
· Only suitable for high gloss, well cured surfaces and smaller panels
Framed Magnetic tape
Suitable for 2-4mm acrylic or plate polycarbonate.
When measuring up deduct 8mm per dimension from the external dimensions of the window frame/outside edge of where you want the secondary glazing frame to sit. The framed magnetic tape needs a flat mountable surface of 16mm around the window frame.
Things to watch out for:
Magnetic secondary glazing is not suitable for
Glass panels
Large heavy panels
Non high gloss dry surfaces
If you have any of the above we recommend using one of our other mechanical fix options such as Smartframe secondary glazing strips or Clipglaze toggle secondary glazing.
