With several rooms to insulate, he needed a low-cost, DIY secondary glazing solution he could install himself.

James chose 4mm clear polycarbonate sheets, cut to size by Omega Build, and fitted using our white-backed magnetic and steel tape system.

We provided the polycarbonate pre-cut based on the measurements James supplied, and we were happy to guide him through how to measure correctly.
Easy DIY Installation
The magnetic and steel tapes come in rolls and can be cut using heavy-duty scissors. The installation kit also included alcohol wipes to help clean the window frame before applying the tape — ensuring a strong, long-lasting bond.
James found the installation simple and quick, with no specialist tools required.
The Results
The improvement was immediate. The secondary glazing stopped morning condensation, reduced draughts dramatically, and added noticeable noise reduction from the road and church bells.
