Un-glazed for 6mm glass.

Plate Polycarbonate is glass clear and shatterproof and is more expensive that Acrylic.

If supplied unglazed, the glass panel sizes will be supplied.

The frame is powder-coated aluminium in white.

Installation:

SmartSlider can be fitted directly to the face of the existing frame (Face Fixed), or

Smartslider can be fitted to the window reveal (Reveal Fixed).

Benefits of Secondary Glazing:

Secondary Glazing is installed in order to achieve one of two objectives:

Heat loss reduction.

Noise reduction.

Heat Loss reduction is best achieved by installing the secondary glazing as close as possible to the existing (window) glazing. The optimal dimension is 15 -20mm.

The glazing material would be 4mm thick.

This mainly implies that the secondary glazing frame is Face-Fixed to the existing window frame.

Noise reduction is best achieved by installing the secondary glazing between 150mm and 200mm from the existing (window) glazing.

Use a different thickness glazing material from that employed in the existing window glazing. This often implies using 6mm thick glazing material as most common window glazing (both single-glazed and double-glazed) is 4mm thick.

The secondary glazing would be Reveal-Fixed into the window reveal.

A balance of these two objectives can be achieved.

Specific situations and objectives should be discussed with Omega before placing your order to ensure the best solution is provided.
